Garawa is a Garrwan language spoken in the Northern Territory of Australia, mainly between the Macarthur river and the Queensland border. In 2016 there were about 130 speakers of Garawa, which is also known as Garrwa, Gaarwa, Karawa or Leearrawa. All Garawa speakera are elderly: children have not learnt the language since the 1980s.
A way of writing Garawa was established in the 1970s. There is a dictionary and a grammar of Garawa, and parts of the Bible have been translated in the language. Efforts are being made to revitalize the language.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
