The Tower of Babel (Genesis 11: 1-9)

Southern Oromo (Borana)

Aka mana d'eera Babeli jaarani

  1. Gaafa qara nami ch'ufti afaani toko dubbata, dubbileeni toko.
  2. Ato nami gara ilaboru gogodaanu, lafa diida diriirtu Shinari keesati qubatani.
  3. Duuba waan woliini jed'ani, Koota me, biyye faara suumne aka dansaa gumne matofaara mid'aasina. Duuba matofaara suniini woi jaarani, matofaara suni laamiini wolti qabani.
  4. Jennaani waan jed'ani, Koota me, dira jaaranne, mana d'eera ka fiit'eeni isaa Waaqati ejitule jaarra, aka gurra baafanne lafa ch'ufa keesa gargari imbaane.
  5. Jennaani AABBO Waaqi gadi bue, dirafi mana d'eera nami jaare argu d'ufe
  6. waan jed'e, Me ilaala, worri kunini ch'ufti gosa toko, ammalle afaani toko dubbatani; iti keeyachaani waan worri armaa achi tahu tana. Armaa achi worri woma yaadu taha!
  7. Koota me, gadi buune, afaani worraa wolmilisine, aka worri wolind'ageenne.
  8. Duuba AABBO Waaqi lafa ch'ufa keesa worra gargari baase wolhanqise; jennaani worri ijaarsa dira suni lakisa.
  9. Tanaafi dira suni maqa Babeli baasani; wonti akanatiifi achiti AABBO Waaqi afaani nama ch'ufa wolmillise, achumaani nama ch'ufa gargari baase wolhanqise.
