Galoli is a member of the Timoric branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language family. It is spoken mainly in Manatuto District on the north coast of East Timor, and also on the south coast of Wetar Island in Indonesia. The dialect spoken in Indonesia is known as Talo, and is mutually intelligible with the Galoli of East Timor. In 2010 there were about 13,000 speakers of Galoli in East Timor, and about 700 in Indonesia.
Galoli is a national language of East Timor, and is used in the Roman Catholic Church in Manatuto District. The language is also known as Lo'ok, Galole, Galolen, Galolem, Galolin, Glolen or Galóli.
