Mamaindê is a member of the Nambikwaran language family. It is spoken by about 340 people in the state Mato Grosso in western Brazil, particularly in the north of Terra Indígena Vale do Guaporé, an indigenous reserve between the Pardo and Cabixi Rivers.
Mamaindê is also known as Mamaindé or Northern Nambikwara. Dialects include Negaroté and Tawende. It can be written with the Latin alphabet, and there is some written material in the language, including a translation of the Bible.
