Arabulga is a way to write Bulgarian with the Arabic alphabet devised by Volodymyr Gandzhuk, who is writing a novel set in Bulgaria that features characters of Turkish origin. As Turkish used to be written with the Arabic alphabet, he wondered what Bulgarian would look like written with the Arabic alphabet.
