Batasan Batasan

Batasan is an alternative script for Indonesian invented by Rahadyan Wishnu Byantoro in 2020 during Covid-19 pandemic. The name is derived from Indonesian word batasan, which means "limitation". Humans are always faced with limitations, but we can always face these challenges.

This writing system was created during a global pandemic where the world is united in facing common challenges. It was inspired by letters from around the world, which represent the spirit of togetherness and the same feeling about the limitations we are experiencing together during the global pandemic.

Batasan combines western and eastern letters, as well as some homemade letters. The letters are as minimal as possible and as artistic as possible, so that they are easy to write and read on handwritten notes or digital writing.
