Berdikari is an alternative script for Indonesian invented by Rahadyan Wishnu Byantoro in 2013. The name is derived from an acronym of "berdiri di kaki sendiri", which means "independent". The structure of this script was inspired by the Javanese script. Berdikari is fusion of Western and Eastern writing systems, and contains variations of letters that can be mixed together to make words.
A vowel and consonant can be stacked together, and two consonants can also be stacked. The first and last letters of words are written larger than the others. Here's an example:
Semua orang dilahirkan merdeka dan mempunyai martabat dan hak-hak yang sama. Mereka dikaruniai akal dan hati nurani dan hendaknya bergaul satu sama lain dalam semangat persaudaraan.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason
and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
