Caps    Caps name

The Caps was invented by Destin Hubble as an alternative alphabet for English. It is a way of writing the English language in all caps instead of the standard way. Destin found that writing in all caps is often much clearer and standard but many parts of it still made it look too complex.

Destin attempted to simplify regular caps by confining them to shapes that can be made from a box with an x inside it. All of these shapes were further refined into letters by confining them to groups of shapes that were all the same apart from orientation. The only two letters that do not fall into one of these groups are "I" and "O."

The numbers are all copies of some letter but in addition, there is a line through each one, stemming from the idea that you slash your zero to distinguish it from an "O."

This alphabet is can be used to write Simplified English, a simplified approach to pronouncing English words with a one-to-one correlation between letters and sounds, useful for speaking in code. In Simplified English very letter is pronounced as shown in the chart, even "h"s in the middle of a word. For example, "sh" is pronounced, [s] and then [h], like an aspirated [s].
