Elhanin

Elhanin was created by Heather Reyes in 2007. It was inspired by Kapunuan and its method of creating consonants by combining different parts of characters. Its name means "thorn" in Heather's conlang Kulionth.

Consonants

Each consonant is made up of two strokes. As the following charts show, the horizontal stroke represents the consonant's degree of closure, and the vertical stroke represents its place of articulation. These strokes are put together differently depending on whether is consonant is voiced or unvoiced.

Vowels

The vowels are written inside the consonants. If the vowel is spoken before the consonant, it's connected to the left side of the consonant. If it's pronounced after the consonant, it's connected to the right side of the consonant. More than one vowel can written inside a consonant, if necessary.
