Etronan (Sedarimea Etronie) was first conceived in 2013 by Jorge Reynoso for his conlang, "Etronie", which is mainly used in his fictional world, where it is spoken by the Heillese people. It is a constantly evolving language, both in-universe and out, and is inspired by the Arabic and Hebrew scripts, whereas the language borrows features from Hebrew and Finnish.
The word "Etronan" is derived from the name of the raven deity, Etras, who himself is an evolved form of the god Zodik, one of the seven remnants of the Grand Embroiderer Weil, who congealed himself to create the rock that would later become the planet Eton. Etras is believed to be responsible for the creation of the massive Etrasin Archipelago which the Heillese people call home. Legend says that the curves and contours of words in Etronan are derived from the carvings found in the ancient temples of Chaletieéthaeiê on the island of Haisala, which were used to seal away the world-aberration named Kol. The language is related to other Heilloid languages such as Kekala, Cokese and Veddel, and the script can be used to write them as well with minor modifications.
Each letter has a different shape depending on whether it appears on its own, or at the beginning, middle or end of a word.
