Nusantara (Aksara Nusantara)

The Nusantara Script is an alternative script for Javanese, Indonesian, Malay and other languages, invented by Wahyu Wijaya Tirtariga in 2003. It resembles a script found on the Sukuh Temple, which dates from around 1437 AD, and was modeled on old scripts of Java dating from about the 8th to 16th centuries. As a result it can be used to write various languages.

Number of letters: 20 Aksara Wyanjana (main letters), 20 Aksara Rekan (rarely used letters), 20 Sandangan (vowel diacritics), 10 Aksara Swara (short vowels), 7 Aksara Dirgaswara (long vowels)
Pasangan (final consonants) are not used.

All consonants have an inherent vowel /a/ except the glottal stop. Most of those letters, except the glottal stop and clusters, have sandangan forms. The sandangan forms cancel the vowel of the preceding letter.

Transliteration

Semua orang dilahirkan merdeka dan mempunyai martabat dan hak-hak yang sama. Mereka dikaruniai akal dan hati nurani dan hendaknya bergaul satu sama lain dalam semangat persaudaraan.
