The Vavileqel script was invented by John H. Rykkelid in June 2012 for the eponymous constructed language, which is mainly inspired by Norwegian, Hebrew and German.
Initially just being a modified, mirrored Latin alphabet (for the purpose of writing right-to-left texts easier), several later revisions produced a purpose-made, stylistic set of characters. The mostly phonemic alphabet is tailored to the inventor's own linguistic preferences when developing his conlang, and may therefore appear somewhat inconsistent, with a fairly unusual consonant inventory including one dorso-velar click sound ('nev) and pulmonic sounds spread asymmetrically across most places of articulation.
