How to count in Papantla Totonac (Tutunakú), a Totonacan language spoken around the city of Papantla the Mexican state of Veracruz in central Mexico.
The Totonac number system is vigesimal. However, this system is used less these days, since young people prefer to count using the decimal number system in Spanish.
A very particular feature of Totonac is that numbers are not used on their own as in Spanish, What is counted or numbered from 1 to 20 in Totonac always requires the presence of the numeral classifier akg-.
