Kadugli is a Kadu language, a group of languages which is possibly a branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family. Kadugli is spoken in South Kordofan Province {جنوب كردفان} in southern Sudan by about 75,000 people. Kadugli is also known as Katcha-Kadugli-Miri or Central Kadu, and some linguists belief that the different varieties of Kadugli are separate languages.
The most divergent varieties of Kadugli are Katcha (Tolubi, Dholubi); Kadugli proper (Dakalla, Talla, Dhalla, Toma Ma Dalla, Kudugli, Morta), and Miri. The other varities of Kadugli are Tumma and Damba. The different alphabets for Kadugli, Katcha and Miri are shown below.
