Sani (Nip-dop)

Sani is a Southeastern Loloish language spoken in central Yunnan Province in southern China by about 100,000 people. It is spoken mainly in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, and also in Luliang, Luxi, Shizong and Yiliang counties, Malong District, Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, Mile City, and in Qiubei County in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. It is classified as a dialect of Southeastern Yi by the Chinese government.

Sani is also known as Sani Yi or Southeast Yi. It is normally written with a version of the Yi script, and can also be written with the Latin alphabet.
