Hàn Yīnbīao (汉音标) Hàn Yīnbīao

Hàn Yīnbīao (汉音标) is a wriiting system for Mandarin invented by Foo Mun Keet. It uses parts of Chinese characters to make initials and finals, then combines them together into syllabic signs. The basic pronounciation rules are based on Hanyu Pinyin (汉语拼音). It is designed to replace Hanyu Pinyin, Zhuyin Fuhao (注音符号) and in some circumstances, Chinese character. It is also designed to overcome the difficulty memorising Chinese characters.
