Kibat was invented by Lesley Housten C Kibat as an alternative way to write Kadazandusun (either Central Dusun or Coastal Kadazan). The script is adapted from the Roman script, Jawi (Arabic script) and influenced by Brahmi script. It consists of 16 consonants and 3 regular vowels. The Kibat numerals are similar with Kibat Abada numerals
