How to write dates in Korean

In Korean dates are written year, month, day, possibly followed by the day of the week. For example, today’s date in Korean is 2024년11월07일 (07.11.2024).

When talking about the year in a date, rather than saying something like twenty twenty three, or nineteen eighty five, you say 이천이십삼 (icheon-isibsam), or two thousand twenty-three, and 천구백팔십오 (cheongubaegpalsib-o), or one thousand nine hundred eighty-five. However you write 2023년 and 1985년.
