There are to numbers in Apurinã - 1 (hãt-u / hãt-o) and 2 (epi). These can be combined together for larger numbers. For example 5 = epi-epi-hãtu-pakunu ("2 2 1 plus"). However, nowadays Apurinã people generally use Portuguese numbers after 3.
