Avokaya is a Central Sudanic language spoken in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo by about 65,000 people. There are about 40,000 Avokaya speakers in the south of South Sudan, mainly in the town of Maridi, and another 25,000 mainly in the town of Faradje in Congo.
The language is also known as Abukeia, Avukaya or ابوكية, and there are two main dialects: Ajugu and Ojila, and two smaller dialects: Northern Ogambi and Avokaya Pur. Avokaya is mostly closely related to Logo, especially the Northern Ogambi dialect.
