Beli is a member of the Central Sudanic branch of the Nilo-Saharan language spoken in South Sudan. It is spoken in Wulu county in Lakes state, and in Mvolo county in West Equatoria state. In 2009 there were about 65,000 speakers of Beli, which is also known as Behli, Beili, ʼBeli, Jur Beli.
There are three dialects of Beli: Wulu, Bahri Girinti and Sopi. It is quite closely related to Jur Modo and Bongo, which are also spoken in South Sudan.
Beli is used in primary schools, and has been officially recognised since 2011.
