Bariba (baatɔnum)

Bariba is member of the Savannas branch of the Atlantic-Congo language family. It is spoken by the Bariba people (Baatonu / Baatombu) in northern Benin and in Kwara and Niger States in Nigeria. In 1995 there were about 1.3 million speakers of Bariba, which is also known as Baatombu, Baatonu, Barba, Barganchi, Bargawa, Bargu, Baruba, Berba, Bogung or Burgu.

Ba tɔmbu kpuro marawa ba tii mɔ, ba nɛ, girima ka saria sɔɔ. Ba ra bwisiku, ba dasabu mɔ, ma n weene ba n waasinɛ mɛrobisiru sɔɔ.

Translation
