Mono is a member of the Central Banda branch of the Atlantic-Congo language family. It is spoken by about 62,000 people in the northwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), particularly near the cities of Bosobolo and Bili in Nord-Ubangi Province, and near the city of Libenge in Sud-Ubangi Province.
Mono is also known as Amono. Dialects include Bili, Bubanda, Mpaka, Galaba and Kaga. It is written with the Latin alphabet.
