Pikchukunap Qillqa (ბიქჯუქუნაბ ჹიჲჹა)

Pikchukunap Qillqa - literally "script of our mountains" - is an adaptation of the Mkhedruli Georgian script for the Quechua languages of western South America, developed by Isaac Mayer.

Georgian and Quechua share some surprising similarities with regards to linguistic typology. Both feature a three-way division between unaspirated, aspirated, and ejective consonants, as well as a complex and incredibly agglutinative morphology. So Mkhedruli, the modern most commonly used script for Georgian, seems an appropriate choice to adapt for Quechua.

There are some Quechua phonemes without equivalents in modern Georgian, so for those sounds Pikchukunap Qillqa uses letters from other Caucasian languages that have historically used Mkhedruli. (If you want an enormous number of distinct phonemes, it's hard to go better than the Caucasus!)

Both the Caucasus and the Andes are largely mountainous regions, so the name (using the inclusive first-person possessive) refers to both.
