Cajamarca Quechua is a Quechua language spoken by about 30,000 people in northwest of Peru, particularly in the districts of Cajamarca, Baños del Inca and Chetilla in the province of Cajamarca. It is considered severely endangered as very few children are learning it.
Cajamarca Quechua is also known Kichwa, Kichwa Lingwa, Lingwa, Linwa, Quechua de Cajamarca, Quechua Cajamarquino, Kashamarka Runashimi or Kashamarka qichwa. It is closely related to Lambayeque Quechua and Pacaraos Quechua.
There are several ways to write Cajamarca Quechua with the Latin alphabet. A grammar and dictionary of Cajamarca Quechua were published in 1976, and a Cajamarca Quechua translation of the New Testament was published in 2005.
The letters b, d, e, g and o are used in Spanish loanwords.
