Cèmuhî is a member of the New Caledonian branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language family. It is spoken by about 3,300 people in the centre of the North Province of New Caledonia, particularly in the municipalities of Poindimié, Koné and Touho.
Cèmuhî is also known as Camuhi, Camuki, Tyamuhi or Wagap. It was first written with the Latin alphabet by French missionaries in the 19th century. A grammar of the language was published in 1982, and a dictionary in 1994.
