Ende is a member of the Sumba-Flores branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language family. It is spoken by about 110,000 people in the Ende Regency in Nusa Tenggara Province in south central Flores in eastern Indonesia.
Ende is usually written with the Latin alphabet, however it has its own script, known as Lota or Lota Ende, which is similar to the Bugis script.
