Ghari

Ghari is a member of the Southeast Solomonic branch of the Oceanic group of Austronesian languages. It is spoken in Vaturanga in the northwest of Guadalcanal Island in the Solomon Islands by about 12,000 people.

It is also known as Gari, Tangarare, Sughu or West Guadalcanal. Dialects include: Gae, Geri, Ndi (Vaturanga), Nginia, Tandai-Nggaria (Tanaghai) and Ghari. It is written with the Latin alphabet, and there is a translation of the Bible and other religious books mainly in the Vaturanga dialect of Ghari.
