Talise

Talise is a member of the Southeast Solomonic group of Oceanic languages. It is spoken by about 13,000 people in the south of Guadalcanal Island in Guadalcanal Province of the Solomon Islands.

Talise is also known as Tolo or Talisi. The name Talise is also used to refer to a group of closely related dialects: Poleo, Koo, Malagheti, Moli and Tolo, which are spoken on Guadalcanal Island.

Talise is written with the Latin alphabet. The orthography shown below is used in the Tolo Dictionary by Susan Smith Crowley (1986). Other spelling systems are available.
