Limbum

Limbum is a member of the Eastern Grassfields branch of the Southern Bantoid language family. There are about 130,000 speakers of Limbum, mainly in Cameroon, and also in Nigeria. In Cameroon it is spoken by the Wimbum people in the Donga-Mantung Division in the Northwest Region. In Nigeria there are a few speakers of Limbum in the Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State in the southeast of the country.

Limbum is also known as Bojiin, Limbom, Llimbumi, Ndzungle, Ndzungli, Njungene, Nsungali, Nsungli, Nsungni or Wimbum. There are three dialects: Northern, Central and Southern, according to some linguists. Limbum is closely related to Yamba, Bamum, Ngemba and Bamileke.

Limbum is written with the Latin script. There is some written material in the language, including a grammar and a dictionary.
