Värmlandic (varmlansk)

Värmlandic, or Värmländska, is a group of Swedish dialects spoken in the traditional province of Värmland in western Sweden. Värmland corresponds to Värmland County and the two neighbouring municipalities of Karlskoga and Degerfors. In 2017 this area had a population of 319,675, however the number of people who speak Värmlandic is unknown.

The Värmlandic spoken by a small number of mainly elderly people differs from Standard Swedish in terms of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Many more people - over 150,000 - speak Swedish with Värmlandic pronunciation.
