Pujangga

Pujangga is an alternative script for Indonesian and Malay invented by Pangus Ho in 2010. The name Pujangga is synonymous with Kawi, meaning "author" or "poet", which reflects its derivation from the ancient Kawi script and its descendants, such as the Javanese and Balinese scripts. The script is designed to fit well with the Indonesian and Malay phonology and grammar, while aiming for a minimalist look that's suitable for modern typesetting.

Notable features

Type of writing system: Abugida: each consonant letter carries an inherent vowel /a/
Writing direction: left to right in horizontal lines.
Used to write: Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) and Malay (Bahasa Melayu), and other Austronesian languages with similar phonology, such as Javanese (Basa Jawa), Sundanese (Basa Sunda), and Balinese (Basa Bali)
The shapes of the consonant letters are semi-featural. For example, the letter shapes of the voiced stops {g, d, b} and nasals {ng, ny, m} are derived from their respective voiceless stops {k, t, p}.
The Pujangga orthography is morphophonemic rather than purely phonemic. For example, the word berada "to be located" is spelled ber-a-da following the morpheme boundaries, rather than be-ra-da following the syllable boundaries.

Notes

The first consonant letter (a) represents a glottal stop both at the beginnings and ends of syllables.
ya and wa are also used to represent diphthongs and glide-initial syllables after i, u é and o in words such as pantai, aula and diam.
The symbol for kang represents a nasal consonant - [ŋ], [m] or [n] - that assimilates to the following consonant in words such as mengikat, benci and ember.
The r diacritc is only used in prefixed and before a consonant with the same morpheme, e.g. berada (ber + ada)
The symbol abbr. marks abbreviations and redulipations.
The consonant modifier turns k j p and s into kh, z, f and sy.
