Russian birthday song

Here's Russian song used to wish people a happy birthday.

The word милый (mily - dear) is used for a man, and милая (milaya - dear) for a woman.

Transliteration

S dnyom rozhdeniya tebya,
SS dnyom rozhdeniya tebya,
S dnyom rozhdeniya tebya mily/milaya (name),
S dnyom rozhdeniya tebya!

Here's another Russian song used to wish people a happy birthday.

Gena the Crocodile's Song

Never mind that the clumsy pedestrians
are jumping over rain puddles.
And that the water is streaming down the street.
And never mind that the passers-by can't make sense of
Why is it that I'm so happy on such a dreary day.

Chorus
Yet I'm playing my accordion
In front of everyone on the street.
It's so sad that a birthday
Can only happen once a year.

A wizard will suddenly appear
In a blue whirlybird,
And will show me free movies.
He'll say Happy Birthday
And just before he flies away
He'll probably leave 500 ice cream cones for me.

Chorus
Yet I'm playing my accordion
In front of everyone on the street.
It's so sad that a birthday
Can only happen once a year.

Gena the Crocodile first appeared in 1966 in a book by (Gena the Crocodile and His Friends). An animation based on the characters from the book was created in 1969. This song was written by Владимир Шаинский (Vladimir Shainsky) and Александр Тимофевский (Aleksandr Timofeevskiy) for the animation, and is popular among Russian speakers as a birthday song.
