Chrau is a member of the Bahnaric branch of the Austroasiatic language family. It is spoken by about 22,000 Chơ Ro people in southern Vietnam, mainly in the Đồng Nai, Bình Dương, Bình Phước, Bình Thuận, Lâm Đồng, and Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu provinces.
