Tektitek is a Quichean-Mamean Mayan language spoken mainly in western Guatemala by about 3,090 people, particularly in the municipality of Tectitán in the department of Huehuetenango. There are also some speakers of Tektitek in Chiapas in southern Mexico.
The language is also known as Tectiteco, Teco, Teko, K'onti'l, Qyool, Maya-Tekiteko, Tectitec, Tectitán Mam or Tujqyol. The native name for the language is B'a'aj. It is closely related to Mam.
Tektitek is written with the Latin alphabet and is taught in primary schools. It is also used in the media and there are some books in and about the language, including grammars, dictionaries and textbooks.
