Tshangla (ཆང་ལོ་)

Tshangla is a Tibetic language spoken by about 160,000 people in Bhutan, Tibet and Arunachal Pradesh in India. The language, which is also known as Sharchop, Menba or Monpa, is mainly spoken in the east of Bhutan in Trashigang, Pemagatshel, Samdrup Jongkhar, Mongar, and Trashiyangtse Districts. There are also Tshangla speakers in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast of India and in Pemako in the southeast of Tibet.

Tshangla is rarely written and has no official status. When it is written the Tibetan script is usually used. There is also a way of writing Tshangla with the Latin alphabet.
