Chaha (ቸሃ)

Chaha is a Semitic language spoken in Central Ethiopia by about 440,000 people. The majority of Chaha speakers life in the Gurage Zone in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region of Ethiopia, and can also be found in Ethiopia's cities, particularly in Addis Ababa.

Chaha is one of the varieties of Sebat Bet Gurage (SBG), which means "Seven Gurage Houses", referring to the seven recognised groups that make up the Gurage. Other varities or dialects of SBG include Ezha, Gumer/Gwemare, Gura, Gyeto and Muher/Mwahr. Some consider these separate languages.

Chaha is written with a version of the Ethiopic script.
