Lamalama

Lamalama is a Pama-Nyungan language spoken on the east coast of Cape York Peninsula in Queensland the northeast of Australia. According to the 2016 census, there are just 3 speakers of Lamalama. Traditionally it was spoken by 20 different clans, including the Mbarrumbathama, at the mouth of the Normaby River on the south coast of Princess Charlotte Bay, at the mouth of the North Kennedy River, and further inland. Efforts are being made to revive the language, supported by the Pama Language Centre.
