Tumulung Sisaala (Sisaaliŋ Tumuluŋ)

Tumulung Sisaala is member of the Gur branch of Niger-Congo language family. It is spoken by about 105,000 people in northern Ghana, particularly in the town of Tumu in the Sisaala East District in north of the Upper West Region, and in the Bullisa District in the North Central Region.

Tumulung Sisaala is also known as Sisaala-Tumulung, Isaalang or East Sisaala. It is closely related to Western Sisaala and Paasaal, which are also spoken in northern Ghana, and Sisaali, which is spoken in Burkina Faso. These four languages are classified as dialects of Sisaala in some sources, however there is limited mutual intelligibility between them.
