Pocket Hedgehogs

Pocket Hedgehogs

A little song I wrote in November 2021 inspired by the Welsh idiom 'mae o'n cadw draenog yn ei boced', which means he's careful with his money, or literally 'he keeps a hedgehog in his pocket'.

Cân fach mi wnes i sgwennu ym Mis Tachedd 2021 wedi'i hysbrydoli gan yr idiom Gymraeg 'mae o'n cadw draenog yn ei boced', sy'n golygu mae o'n gofalus efo ei bres, neu mae e'n gynnil.

Pocket Hedgehogs

He keeps a hedgehog in his pocket
And a cat in his hat
There's a rabbit in his rucksack
And bat on his back

There are moths in his wallet
And spiders in his hair
There's a bee in his bonnet
And a bear on his chair

His pockets are deep
And his fists are tight
He pinches his pennies
And they rarely see the light

When the rain is falling
Falling down from the sky
He'll be ready
He won't cry
