Nukuoro is a Polynesian language spoken on Western Nukuroro Island and Pohnpei in Pohnpei District of the Federated States of Micronesia. In 2016 there were about 700 Nukuoro speakers in Micronesia - 300 on Nukuoro and 400 on Pohnpei. There are also an esitmated 140 Nukuoro speakers in the USA.
Nukuoro is also known as Nuguor or Nukoro, and is closely related to Kapingamarangi, Rennellese and Vaeakau-Taumako, however these languages are not mutually intelligible.
