Wind-and-Leaf Script Wind-and-Leaf Script

The Wind-and-Leaf Script was invented by Kitsune Sobo as the native script of the Gods of Ooseyard ("God World") in the Rhodinoverse. The Rhodinoverse is a fictional multiverse created and illustrated by Kit, and features various species with their own distinct languages and cultures.

In-universe History

The Gods of Ooseyard, like other beings that interacted with the human world in ancient times, picked up aspects of human culture out of admiration for the ingenuity of these so-called "lesser beings", including a form of medieval Sinhala that gradually replaced the speech they used prior.

The script used to write this variation of Sinhala is a native invention, derived from the shapes of clouds as well as leaves shaken off trees by the winds of their realm. It can be used to write the Gods' dialect of Sinhala as well as the standard form used today.

Translation

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
