Abidji

Abidji is a member of the Kwa branch of the Niger-Congo language family. It is spoken by about 85,000 people in the south of Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), particularly in the Agboville area of the Dabou and Sikensi subprefectures in the Lagunes district.

Abidji is also known as Abiji or Ambidji. There are two dialects: Enyembe and Ogbru, which are also the names of the groups who speak them.

Abidji is written with the Latin alphabet, although few Abidji speakers are literate in their language. Instead, they are more likely to write in French.
