Dongotono is a member of the Eastern Nilotic branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family, and is spoken in South Sudan by about 5,000 people. It is spoken in Ikotos County in the south of Eastern Equatoria State on the northwestern slopes of the Dongotono Mountains. It is most closely related to Lopit, Lotuko and Lokoya.
