Mandari is an Eastern Nilotic language spoken by the Mundari people in South Sudan, mainly in Terakeka county in Central Equatoria state, and also in Mvolo county in Western Equatoria state. In 2014 there were about 70,000 speakers of Mandari, which is also known as Chir, Kir, Mondari or Shir. It is closely related to Bari, and classified as a dialect of Bari in some sources.
Mandari has been written with a version of the Latin alphabet since 2009.
