Halbi Lipi Halbi Lipi

The Halbi Lipi is an abugida or syllabic alphabet invented by Vikram Kumar Soni in 2006. It is used to write Halbi, an Eastern Indo-Aryan language spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha in Eastern India. Halbi Lipi is used particularly in Chhattisgarh, and a number of books have been publised in it.

Halbi is usually written with either the Devanagari or Odia alphabets.

Iyaa gothhyaaun

mocho koni aasot balun.

Translation

Come, let's talk to
about pleasure and joy,
pain and sorrow,
death and birth,
knowledge and information
and other several matters,
our talking, in our language,
so that I could feel
there is someone of mine.
