Tani   Tani Lipi

The Tani script, or Tani Lipi, is a new alphabet for the Tani languages, a group of Sino-Tibetan languages spoken mainly in Arunachal Pradesh in the north east of India. It was invented by Tony Koyu, a social scientist from Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh. It was first presented at a seminar at the North Eastern Institute of Science and Technology at Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh in November 2001. It is not related to any other writing system, but some of the letters are similar to Bengali or Latin letters.

The Tani Lipi appears in newspapers such as the Echo of Arunachal Pradesh, and sometimes in other materials. It is also taught by Tony Koyu.
