Bariai

Bariai is a member of the Western Oceanic group of Malayo-Polynesian languages. It is spoken by about 1,350 people along the northwest coast of New Britain island in West New Britain Province of Papua New Guinea, particularly between Borgen Bay and Rottock Bay.

Bariai is also known as Kabana. The name Bariai means "at the mangrove", from bare (mangrove). Kabana is a name used by the Amara, a neighbouring tribe who speak a closely related language, and who share common ancestors with the Bariai. It means "foreigner". Bariai is written with the Latin script.

Translation

Okay, those two dogs there went to the bush. They went with their owner, Akono. Akono went and then he saw a Canarium almond tree having much fruit at its top. Therefore Akono ascended the Canarium almond tree, while his two dogs went wandering (for prey) in the bush.
