Ughele

Ughele is a member of the Oceanic branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language family. It is spoken by about 1,200 people in the villages of Ughele and Egholo in the northwest of Rendova Island, one of the New Georgia Islands in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands.

Ughele is also known as Ugele. There are no dialects. A Grammar of Ughele: A Language of The Solomon Islands by Benedicte Haraldstad Frostad was published in 2012. Before then, Ughele was unwritten and undocumented.
