Cheke Holo

Cheke Holo is a member of the Oceanic branch of Malayo-Polynesian languages. It is spoken by about 10,800 people at the east end of Santa Isabel Island in Isabel Province of the Solomon Islands, particularly around the Maringe lagoon on the north coast and in the Hograno region on the south coast.

The language is also known as Cheke Tahati, Maringe or Mariŋe, A'ara, Holo or Kubonitu. There are two dialects: Maringe and Hograno. It is written with Latin alphabet, and there is some written material in the language, including a dictionary, grammar and translations of religious works.
